“WWWOOAAHH, we’re half way there. Woah, livin’ on a prayer. Take my hand, we’ll make it I swear. Woah, livin’ on a prayer.” I couldn’t help but sing this when we hit 20 weeks this week because…WE ARE HALF WAY THERE! 20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go! So close…yet so far, and some days I really am just livin’ on a prayer Haha! To celebrate this milestone in my pregnancy though I did a mini maternity session with Melanie Isaac Photography and I HAD to wear this new maternity dress I got from Pink Blush Maternity! Can you believe this is a maternity dress? It is adorable, flattering, and comfy! I love how the tie is above my belly and the skirt is flowy so it will grow with my belly and continue to look flattering, but still look good when I’m not pregnant. It will also work for me while I nurse because of the criss cross top. How cool is that?? It’s like I have three dresses in one! I seriously love this dress though and now want everything from Pink Blush! They have the most adorable maternity clothes and I love that most of them can be used through several stages of pregnancy and after, like my dress. Now for the best part. I’ve teamed up with Pink Blush to offer one of YOU a $75 gift card to their online store AND a $50 Sierra’s Beauties gift card! I am so excited about this because I love Pink Blush and how their clothes make you feel pretty and comfortable while pregnant (which is a HARD thing to achieve during pregnancy) but something every pregnant women deserves!! I will be hosting the giveaway on my Instagram, but you can get early entries RIGHT NOW! Comment on this post for 2 extra entries, and share this post on Facebook for 5 extra entries. And now for my weekly update!
How far along? 20 Weeks! We are now HALF WAY THERE! I can’t believe how far we’ve come…yet how far we have to go! haha
How Big is baby? Baby is as big as a Banana! I can’t believe that 20 weeks ago he was just a poppy seed…and in 20 weeks he will be as big as a watermelon! Ah!
Weight Gained? I haven’t weighed myself in a while…but I’m guessing my weight has gone up! I can’t stay away from those cadbury eggs!
Maternity clothes? This AMAZING dress!! Oh my goodness I love it! (If you couldn’t tell already haha)
Stretch marks? Not yet! (crossing my fingers it stays that way for a little while longer!)
Sleep? It’s been TERRIBLE this week! Not only because I’ve been sick, but because I wake up 50 times a night to go to the bathroom! I also have been getting so scared at night and every little noise wakes me up in a panic! Poor Brandon has to check our house multiple times a night for me! He’s seriously the best!
Best moment this week? I’ve been feeling the baby move inside more and more lately, but this week I felt him on the outside with my hand! He kicked so hard it startled me and I jumped! I could feel his little foot or hand with my hand and it was the coolest feeling ever! I love him so much!
Miss Anything? SLEEP! I can’t wait until I can get a good night’s sleep…oh wait that will probably never happen again!
Movement? Lots this week! It is the absolute coolest feeling!
Anything making you queasy or sick? It seems like everything has made me sick this week!! The second trimester hasn’t been THAT bad, but about two weeks ago I got really sick one day (throwing up, intense back and chest pain, and nausea) but then it went away. Since then I’ve woke up two different nights with the same intense back and chest pain. The pain would go away after a while and I would be fine in the morning so I didn’t think much of it. Then on memorial day the back and chest pain started again and I threw up a ton, but the pain would not go away. It got SO bad I felt like I couldn’t breath and just couldn’t handle the pain anymore. Since it was memorial day all of the doctors offices and insta cares were closed so we ended up going to the ER and they took me to labor and delivery! I started having little contractions, but the nurse said it was probably from all the throwing up I had done. (ew right??) It was so scary, but after taking a few tests and monitoring baby they said he was completely fine. They couldn’t figure out why I had such intense back and chest pain though. They think I might have been having gallbladder attacks, but weren’t sure! I’ll go into my doctor next week for tests to see if it is my gallbladder or not. Hopefully they will be able to figure it out! I am doing MUCH better now and haven’t had any more pain so that’s a good sign. (Brandon and I joked after about how we are BOTH not excited for labor after I could barely handle this pain! hahaha)
Cravings? Cocoa pebbles!! I had a whole box in just two days!!
Labor Signs? Just the contractions I had when I was in the ER, but they weren’t real labor signs!
Symptoms? Throwing up, headaches, nausea, and frequent bathroom trips! It’s been quite the week!
Belly Button in or out? In! But it’s totally starting to turn out!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time? This week has been pretty moody! I don’t do well with pain and being sick…yeah like i said I’m a little nervous for labor! haha
Looking forward to? Putting baby’s crib together this week!
This weeks braid? I love how complicated and put together braids look (especially this one) but in reality they are SO easy to do! (Trust me they really are easy it just takes practice!) For this braid I am wearing my Laced Hair Extensions to add length and thickness to the braid since it is two braids in one. I first section the top half of my hair off and braid the bottom half in a normal 3 strand braid. I then do a fishtail braid to the top half and pull both braids apart until they look how I want them to. I then wrap the fishtail braid around the 3 strand braid and pin it in place. Easy right?!
Thanks for reading this weeks Bumps and Braids beauties! And don’t forget to keep a look out for my giveaway on Instagram!
