If I were to get married again I would have Skye plan the whole thing!! She put this entire shoot together and I was blown away at how beautiful she made it and how much detail she put into it even with all the stress and road blocks she hit trying to plan it. This shoot definitely did not come together as easily and as beautiful as it looks! Styled shoots are stressful and difficult to manage so I decided to share a little “behind the scenes” details on how this whole thing came together!
Skye and I have worked together numerous times and I absolutely love working with her. She is incredibly talented (especially for someone so young) and so much fun to shoot with! She is wonderful at seeing a vision of what she wants and making it come alive through her photography. She is definitely one of the most creative people I know. So when she approached me about doing this shoot I knew I had to be involved!! I was so excited to be doing the Hair, but when the week of the shoot came I became so busy at work and with life that somehow got my days mixed up and thought Friday was Thursday. Well after being at work for hours without my phone I finally pulled it out and saw missed calls and texts from Skye and my heart sunk. How could I forget?! *disclaimer* RARELY if not never does this happen, but we have to remember we are all human and make mistakes. I left work immediately and headed up to the shoot 3 hours late! When I got there I found out that a lot of the models and vendors involved had gotten lost on the way there and no was ready to shoot yet. I felt a tiny bit better, but have never curled hair faster in my life! Little tiny things kept happening as we tried to get everyone ready that kept delaying us more and more. Poor Skye was getting so overwhelmed, but kept cool the whole time and acted so professional. Finally around 8:00 we were ready to shoot! We were so worried about losing sunlight that Skye had to shoot much faster than she would have liked and we still ended up running out of light for the models second outfit change! After all that craziness though I was blown away by the pictures Skye sent us. You would never imagine all the crazy things that happened to make this shoot come together. So next time you see pictures from a styled shoot know it was no easy task to put together and everyone involved probably has a great story to tell from it!
